It’s Great Britain vs Columbia in the ring on Saturday night, as Tony Bellew and Edison Miranda go head to head for the September 8 fight.
British Bellew has warned his opponent to expect pain in tomorrow night’s fight and fully believes in his ability to secure victory over the South American. (Bellew 2/13 to beat Miranda).
Miranda recently spoke out and infuriated the British and Commonwealth light heavyweight champion when arriving in the UK by claiming he hadn’t actually heard of the 29-year-old fighter, but the odds in boxing betting state Miranda will certainly have heard of Bellew after tomorrow’s match at Alexandra Palace in London.
Miranda is aiming to knockout his opponent, but with odds of 4/7 for Bellew to knock out Miranda, it’s more probable the outcome will not be what the Columbian is aiming for. Miranda’s jibes at Bellew prior to tomorrow night’s match will only have spurred on the Liverpudlian to win even more and he can be backed at 2/1 to win on points.
It’s looking likely that the deed will be done early on and that the Columbian’s fate will be sealed with the odds of the fight ending in the 9th round or before at 8/13. Bellew suffered the first defeat of his career to Nathan Cleverley on points back in October, but managed to bounce back with victory of Danny McIntosh this May to retain his British title and is fully confident of success on Saturday. Miranda, who is 2-years older than his British opponent has been defeated seven times in his career, whilst inflicting 30 knockouts in his 35 wins, so not a bad all round performance in his boxing career to date, but it’s not looking good for the 31-year-old for this particular match. (Miranda 4/1 to beat Bellew).
